Academic Administrative Assistants (AAAs) provide a wide range of administrative support to academic departments and programs at St. Olaf College. This AAA is on Team North and is the principal AAA contact for the English Department and for Associate Deans & the Assistant Dean. The office work environment is busy and full but does ebb and flow in conjunction with the academic calendar. You would do well in this role if you thrive in a fast-paced environment, pride yourself on your organizational ability, have strong computer skills and enjoy working closely with students, faculty, and staff.
This position works between 33 and 33.5 hours per week year-round.
What You’ll Do:
Duties include assisting with oversight, preparation and maintenance of departmental budgets and departmental files, assisting with pre-registration and class scheduling, organizing department events including retreats, social and student events and providing logistical support to department faculty and students. Other typical duties include ordering office supplies, reconciling credit card purchases, placing work orders and updating websites. This position may also involve hiring, training, and supervising student workers. You’ll communicate regularly with many offices on campus including the Registrar’s Office, Catering, Facilities, Center for Advising and Academic Support (CAAS) and the Business Office.
